Our Mission
Our Vision
We aim to promote the sustainability of home decoration by popularizing the knowledge of green decoration. In doing so, we hope to enable homeowners to not only achieve green building standards but also enjoy a higher quality of life and increased home comfort.
Aims and Mission
Achieving a dream renovation can be both expensive and exhausting. Throughout each phase—from initial consideration and planning, to decision-making, implementation, and final experience—there are numerous non-monetary barriers and challenges, commonly referred to as transaction costs (TC) (Ebrahimigharehbaghi et al., 2020), that may ultimately result in unsatisfactory outcomes.
Key Challenges Include
1. Conflicting Needs
Renovation aims to create a lifestyle that reflects the desires of all household members. However, differing requirements regarding space usage and design can lead to conflicts in the renovation process.
2. Limited Knowledge on Material Selection and Decision-Making
A lack of familiarity with essential green materials and renovation standards often makes it difficult for homeowners to clearly articulate their needs and communicate effectively with product providers.
3. Product and Service Availability
Many suppliers and service providers face challenges in maintaining effective communication with users, complicating the process of sourcing high-quality green products.
4. Access to Relevant and Reliable Advice
Although there is a wealth of online information, much of it is generalized and does not cater to the specific needs of individual projects. This is compounded by a shortage of mediators who can offer tailored advice based on a homeowner’s unique situation.
Our Project's Approach
This project addresses these challenges by developing a comprehensive green renovation guidebook that:
1. Provides Essential Knowledge
It offers detailed information on current material options and industry standards, empowering users to make informed decisions.
2. Promotes Exploration
The guidebook encourages users to explore green renovation possibilities, using resources such as the BEAM Plus Interior Renovation Registration as a framework. This includes a practical checklist of achievable green practices.
3. Bridges Communication Gaps
By conducting market research and interviews with designers, the project presents best practices and communication strategies to foster a closer connection between product providers, designers, and homeowners.
